Description

Description
An heirloom squash variety from New Zealand, Kamo Kamo grows on a sprawling vine that produces multiple, medium – sized, deeply – ridged fruit. Fruit can be eaten young like a zucchini or allowed to mature fully whereupon it develops a sweeter taste more similar to a pumpkin. The fruit has a large seed cavity which makes it perfect for stuffing.

Care

Plant reasonably deep with the root ball 5 – 10 cm below the soil surface. Requires daily watering for the first two weeks to become established. Once established, the plant has an extensive root system and is reasonably hardy to short periods of drought. Drought tolerance and yields will be improve by incorporating organic matter into the soil prior to planting, and by adding a thick layer of mulch. Avoid getting the leaves wet to prevent powdery mildew.
