Description
Description
This variety produces sweet, oblong, striped fruits on large, trailing vines that require a large amount of space, typically 3m by 3m although well – cared – for vines may grow longer. Watermelons need regular watering and do best with both mulch and fertilizer, but at the end of the season you are rewarded with large, sweet fruits that are far more flavourful than those you buy at the supermarket.
Care
Plant 5cm under the soil surface to support the young stem and water daily for the first two weeks until established. Once established, frequent watering is required in hot weather. This is a high – maintenance annual crop but very rewarding.
