Description
Description:
A vigorous perennial that grows in waterlogged soil, ideal for a pond or a pot. During the cooler months, the leaves die down and this is the perfect time to harvest the tubers produced underground. One plant will yield many tubers and the plant propagates vegetatively through it’s leaf tips, spreading rapidly.
Care:
Does well in full sun or part shade, has the potential to become invasive in wetland areas so cultivate responsibly. Provided in a low – nutrient, pond – safe soil block ready to be placed in a garden pond, although care must be taken with smaller ponds that are home to fish or frogs as it may alter the water’s pH when first added to the ecosystem. This plant does very well in a nutrient dense media so a flooded pot filled with well – rotted compost will provide far greater yields than an ornamental pond.
