Description

Artichokes grow on a large, perennial plant growing to a meter in every direction. The leaves are large and ornamental and can have small thorns on the outside edges. Purple romagna artichokes produce a medium – sized, purple – green bud that may have small thorns on the leaf tips. The chokes are thought to be sweeter and more tender than green varieties.

Care:

Select a full sun or a part shade position. Plant so that the block is level with the top of the soil and water in well. Water daily for the first two weeks. Once established, artichokes have a deep tap root and only require occasional deep watering in Summer.
