Description
Description:
A delicious, mild green with leaves and hollow stems that can be eaten raw or cooked. Water spinach is a perennial, vining plant that can be kept compact and grown in a small space with regular harvesting.
Care
Another plant that prefers moist to waterlogged conditions, water spinach is best grown in containers, particularly if native soils are free draining. Tolerant of low fertility and part shade but will perform better in soil enriched with compost and in a sunny position.
Can be planted 5cm below the soil line to provide support in winy conditions.
