Description
A delicious and easy – to – grow clumping perennial herb, chives are grown primarily for their edible leaves. Scapes (flower buds and stems) and mature flowers are also edible. The plant has a clumping habit and can be dug up and divided every few years.
Care
Tolerates full sun but requires less water and attention when grown in part shade. Plant level with the soil surface. Tolerant of relatively poor soils but benefits from the addition of compost / fertilizer as well as from mulching.
