Description
A hardy, long – lived perennial producing long, flat leaves with a taste between that of spring onions and garlic. The scapes (flower buds and stems) are also edible with a taste that is both savory and sweet – but leave some for the bees!
Grows in a dense clump, forming small bulbs at the base of each plant. Clumps can be dug up and divided every few years. Dies back during the coldest part of the year, re-emerges once the soil starts to heat up.
Care
Full sun or part shade. Requires watering during the hottest periods of the year but otherwise a very hardy plant.
