Description

A sturdy vine producing trusses of small, sweet, round, red fruits. This variety exhibits reasonable resistance to cold conditions, so will continue producing further into Winter than some other varieties.

Care

Does well in full sun or part shade if well watered, however the fruits themselves may become sunburnt or split if exposed to intense sunlight / heat during the peak of Summer. When planting, the plant can be sunk down 5 – 10 cm below the soil’s surface to keep the roots in a moist zone, encourage adventitious feeder roots along the stem, and provide support to the plant during windy conditions. Sinking further than approximately 10cm or below the first pair of ‘true’ leaves is unlikely to provide an advantage and may slow plant establishment due to cooler conditions lower in the soil profile.

This vining variety does require a trellis or other support. Pruning is optional and not generally recommended for smaller tomato varieties. Tomatoes are vulnerable to several fungal and viral infections; a good rule of thumb is to immediately remove and throw away any damaged or discoloured leaves.
