Description
A low, sprawling shrub with silver – green foliage, producing pea – sized, sweet edible berries that ripen through yellow to bright red. Ruby saltbush is native to a wide range of Western Australian habitats, the bush is highly drought tolerant and frost tolerant once established, and does well in full sun or part shade. Provides food and habitat for a range of insects and small birds including native bees, wrens, and New Holland Honeyeaters.
Care
Tolerates a wide range of climates and conditions but does best with free draining soil and full sun to part shade. Plant level with soil surface and water in well. Keep moist until established, at which point, like most saltbush species it will fend for itself.
